Hjarsbaek fundraiser for The Small Things!

One of our board members, Marie Korfits recently took part in a fundraising event in aid of The Small Things, hosted by a children's clothes store in Denmark called Hjarsbaek. Read on to find out about the success of the day!

The store, Hjarsbaek, has been collecting children’s shoes through their customers since June for the children of Nkoaranga Orphanage. As a result of the shoe drive, Marie was able to bring several bags of shoes for the orphanage in the Summer of 2014!

Marie and her boyfriend, Jakob, visiting Big Neema (who they sponsor) in Tanzania last summer!
Sunday's fundraising event was a customer-brunch whereby the store donated 10% of the sales from that day, as well as $10 per brunch participant towards The Small Things. Marie did a speech about The Small Things' work and everyone donated towards the cause. It turned out to be a donation of $265 dollars and on top of that, one of the customers decided to donate an extra $150!

Not only that, but the owner of the shop had arranged a shoe drive and an amazing three big bags full of children's shoes were also donated! It was a great, small event and everyone seemed very interested in becoming sponsors and learning more about The Small Things.

The Small Things would like to say a HUGE thank you to Hjarsbaek for their fantastic support!
